Wed 23 Aug – Close encounter
We stayed overnight in a town called ‘Deadwood’, famous as the place where ‘Wild Bill’ Hickok was killed. Lots of people said we must see it – we were not greatly impressed. We travelled on to Devil’s Tower – probably most famous after the ‘Close Encounters’ film. You really can see it from miles away…
Tue 22 Aug – 3 States and Mount Rushmore
Today we drove east across Wyoming, taking in the north-west corner of Nebraska, and then north into South Dakota, towards Mount Rushmore.
