We managed to find somewhere to walk for a while at the Wildcat Mountain Wilderness Center.
The whole area is really very green and wooded, with lakes and the roads are quite narrow and twisty and up and down. It feels a bit like parts of Wales or Scotland, but a lot warmer. Maybe a bit like the Jura in France.
We didn’t see any wildcats, but we did find some wildlife
Drove back to Newark airport to return the car. Journey back into New York was long and hot. Then we had a 40 minute wait for train from Newark to Penn station NY, then a short walk with suitcases in Manhattan to to another Subway station and another long wait on a very hot and humid platform, then another walk to the hotel in Queens.
There is a rooftop bar at the hotel, so we had to go and check out the view from on top of the 12th floor
We were too tired to go out so we stayed in the hotel and had a sprout pizza. Yes, a pizza with sprouts on it. Then back to look out of out room across to the lights of Manhattan, which looked really good with hazy cloud around teh tops of the skyscrapers. The top of the Empire State kept vanishing completely.
